Guest blogger – Natalie!

I was very excited to be chosen to be the Felicity Fabrics guest blogger for December!
This was the perfect month to be able to make a variety of garments but I chose to make a lounge wear set for those cosy winter days at home in front of the fire.
I don’t know about you but I am at my happiest all snuggled under a blanket watching Christmas films with a hot chocolate and the tree lights on.

My fabric arrived in the famous Felicity Fabrics packaging, a lovely brown box with the fabric wrapped in tissue and a sample card with a piece of the fabric included and very helpful care instructions and composition of the fabric.

I chose the most beautiful soft modal jersey in a lovely pink colour with gold markings on, which reminds me a bit of an animal print.  The gold has a lovely sparkle to it too.  Even though this fabric is white on the reverse, the white doesn’t show through when it is stretched which I was really happy about, this shows the quality in this fabric compared to others.

I decided that my lounge wear set would be made up of two ‘Tilly And The Buttons’ patterns. The Nora Top and The Stella Joggers from the Tilly And The Buttons Stretch Book.
I had just enough fabric (2.5m), for the two pieces and started cutting the pattern out straight away.  The fabric is a dream to work with with quite a bit of drape so I was careful not to stretch the fabric out when I was cutting it out.

The garment came together very quickly as most of the sewing was done on my overlocker.  The top stitching was done with matching pink thread and I used a zigzag stitch for this.  The fabric sewed up so well and I had no problems with it at all.

This fabric is so cosy and easy to wear, perfect for lounging about admiring the Christmas Tree and getting excited for what Santa may bring!
Thank you for reading my blog and I hope you all have safe and very Merry Christmas.
