Guest Blogger – Brogan!
Hello! My name’s Brogan (@the_crafty_pie), and I’m super excited to be the first guest blogger of 2022!

Now that we’re heading towards Spring, I really wanted to make a garment with sunnier days in mind, and something that I will get a lot of wear out of. As soon as I saw this stunning broderie anglaise fabric I knew it was the one for me. It has such a delicate weave, and the large repeat patterns of circles meant I wouldn’t even have to line my top.

My gorgeous package arrived on a rather gloomy Tuesday, so it definitely put a smile on my face to see such gorgeous packaging!

For the pattern, I decided on the Lily Blouse by Vikisews. This is one of my go-to websites for affordable patterns. Although the majority of designs are only available in Russian, all the instructions come with clear pictures, and the patterns usually work out around £1.50- bargain! This design features a completely elasticated neckline, meaning it can be worn as shown or off the shoulder. We love a two-in-one garment!

If you follow me over on my sewing account, you’ll know that I’m currently knee deep in house renovations, so building site life doesn’t leave a lot of time for sewing at the minute. This blouse was the perfect quick project for me- the fabric sewed up like a dream, and with only four pattern pieces to cut out, it was done and dusted in under two hours. I think this is the perfect spring basic that I’ll be able to style in lots of different ways. Admittedly, I really wish I had ordered more of this broderie anglaise, as I think some matching frilly shorts would make the most stunning beachy co-ord. Oh well, it’s the perfect excuse to make another order!

Thank you so much for reading- I would love to hear if you have any plans to sew any wardrobe basics this Spring?
