Hi, we’re Caroline and Fliss - Mum and daughter - proud owners of Felicity Fabrics.

We launched our online fabric shop in July 2019 and have loved seeing our small business evolve. The business is run from the rural family home in Scarborough, North Yorkshire – which is slowly being taken over by bolts and bolts of fabric! We do hope to have our own studio in the near future where we can host open days and social events.

Having spent a lot of time with her Grandma – also known as Nana Eastwood, Mum (Caroline) was taught to sew by the very best! Nana Eastwood was incredibly passionate about sewing and needlework and we have lots of her work hanging in the house.

When my siblings and I were growing up Mum loved nothing more thanto dress us up for fancy dress parties in her handmade outfits. The first memory I have of sewing is making ballet costumes with Mum for my sisters dance competitions. From there I helped make her prom dress and eventually made my own prom dress which are memories that I will treasure forever.

Although Mum was roped into helping with the family farming I studied historical costume and went on to work in a bridal shop for seven years. Over the years I was there my passion for fabrics and design really grew. One of the best parts of the job was designing a bespoke gown and looking through all the luxurious fabrics to find the perfect one.

I have always wanted to have my own business so decided to launch Felicity Fabrics with Mum, this also meant Mum could get back to her true passion.

During lockdown we decided to bring our future plans forward – designing and making our own women’s clothing line. We launched Felicity Fabrics Clothing in July 2021 and are so excited to see where this journey takes us.

We have started with 5 beautiful blouses in different fabrics, 3 of which have a full bell sleeve and Peter Pan collar and 2 with a pleated cuff and double collar. All the pieces in our clothing range are made by hand by us in North Yorkshire.
